Baby on Board (2009)

This movie could have been better, and the cast tried to save it. The story kind of dragged at times, I don’t know if it was the direction, or the way it was edited, but many of the scenes seemed forced and didn’t seem to flow naturally. I will admit I laughed at a few scenes, and it wasn’t completely a waste of time. But, it wasn’t anything special either; I wanted to write about it because maybe some people would find it worthy of a watch.

I wouldn’t recommend this as a family movie; there are some scenes that wouldn’t be appropriate. But you could certainly watch this with your wife or husband and get a few laughs if you like cheesy humor. There apparently is another movie with the same working title called Baby on Board (1991). I’m now curious to see it, the stories aren’t similar, but that is a good thing.

I always enjoy watching Heather Graham she plays one of the leads in this named Angela who later gets pregnant not to give anything away as it’s pretty obvious as the story progresses. Her boyfriend Curtis is played by Jerry O’Connell who I’m sure you seen before as well. Both of them do well with what they had to work with. Their supporting cast includes: John Corbett as Danny a sex crazed maniac with a wild sense of humor. Jack Nicholson’s former girlfriend Lara Flynn Boyle appears in this as Heather Graham’s boss named Mary. You will also recognize Katie Finneran as Angela’s best friend Sylvia. Anthony Starke is Dr. Robert Taylor, and up comer Brian Sills plays Raphy a gay friend to Heather’s character. If you wish, you can stick around for the ending credits and see some deleted scenes that were left on the cutting room floor. They were honestly funnier than some of the scenes that were left in.
